CREATIVE MINISTRY

Have you discovered the unique purpose God has for your life? What drives you? Who are the people you most want to help? What cause are you passionate about?

Our Creative Ministry module gives opportunity for hands-on experience where students will be able to apply biblical principles in practical and focused ways, promoting individual learning, skill development, and intentional personal growth. This weekly activity is split into various areas of ministry which may include social care, evangelism, creative arts, or other initiatives. This module is a vital element of our course where we aim to give students opportunities to grow in their unique calling while discovering how to minister to others in various forms and contexts.

EMPATHY FOR OLDER PEOPLE

This ministry focuses on supporting older individuals. We visit a care home weekly, where students engage with residents, listening to their stories and sharing God’s love. This experience highlights our dependence on God and the importance of caring for one another, deepening our understanding of life’s seasons. Isaiah 46:4 reminds us, “Even to your old age and grey hairs I am He; I will sustain you.”

EVANGELISM & PERFORMING ARTS

This ministry uses the arts to share the Gospel and showcase God’s character and deeds.

WORSHIP & PRAYER

This ministry helps students cultivate intimacy with God, exploring ways to encounter Him and experience His glory. Through this, students prepare to share the Gospel and fulfill the Great Commission.

MEDIA IN MINISTRY

As communication in the church evolves, this ministry provides students with the knowledge of various methods (video, audio, photography) to share the Gospel. They learn to use P.A. systems and cameras while applying their skills in real projects throughout the year.

This list is indicative; the number and characteristics of creative ministries may vary each year based on student enrollment, staff availability, and external circumstances.

SOCIAL ACTION

This ministry supports people experiencing homelessness in Brighton and Hove. Students provide practical and spiritual help on the streets, expressing Christian compassion. Working with a Christian homeless organisation, they learn about the root causes of homelessness and how they can guide people towards Jesus and the new life He offers.

DISCIPLESHIP

In this ministry, students explore how to respond to Jesus’ Great Commission to “go and make disciples.” They reflect on the gap between Christian teachings and practice, engaging with biblical principles like the priesthood of all believers. Students learn different discipleship methods and develop their own approach.

EVENT ORGANISATION

This ministry teaches students how to organise events that reflect values like honour, fellowship, and gratitude. They develop skills in marketing, decorating, and catering while planning college events, learning to express God’s love through service.

PRACTICAL DUTY

During this weekly practical duty students will cultivate a servant-hearted attitude while learning valuable skills through a variety of hands-on activities that support the daily operations of the College. Activities may include cleaning, gardening, fruit picking, maintenance and repairs, sewing, laundry, and cooking, all of which contribute to the smooth running of the campus and foster a spirit of teamwork and humility.

IBTI MISSION CHURCH

Students will take the lead in our fortnightly evening gatherings, having the opportunity to preach, lead worship and prayer times. This hands-on experience allows students to develop your leadership skills in a supportive environment, while engaging with the local community.

MINISTRY OUTREACHES

Students will gain practical experience by visiting our partner churches across the UK, where they will support various initiatives such as youth work, children's ministry, and prayer ministry. These outreach opportunities will enable students to engage with diverse communities, apply their skills in different contexts, and deepen understanding of effective ministry practices.
