KENYA
Africa, the so-called “Dark Continent” is being transformed by the gospel.
John has the privilege to help and work with the Kenyan Christians,
fully committed to helping the Maasai People.
In 2009, Pastor Joseph Ntayia (Maasai) graduated at the IBTI after completing a 2 year course. 6 months after returning to Kenya, he continued to add to his church plants by planting his second church, now firmly established with well over 100 people. Up until 2010, they met under a tree but now they have a permanent worship centre built by donations from both the UK and Europe. (2011 saw him planting his 3rd church).

In 2010, John & Joseph began the “Water 4 All Masai” Project. Rain catchment, in 415 to 1000 litre tanks, providing water for 7 to 8 people for approximately a month. Their goal of 100 tanks for 100 families was achieved in 2016. The project continues to help Maasai people everywhere.
Micro-business enterprises
Providing lambs for widows (ongoing) is another project they have established. Widows make bead jewellery and when sold, mainly in UK and Europe, the proceeds go to purchasing lambs to help sustain their families with wool as well as meat.
The Keyhole Garden pilot scheme (2011) brought some degree of help to feed the Hill Country people although it was difficult to maintain due to lack of water and grazing animals who made short work of the beautiful unfenced vegetables growing in them!.

In 2023 Pastor Joseph sought a study of his land regarding sinking a possible borehole. The company “Agua Well Services Ltd” in Kenya has studied that possibility and have identified water at 250 metres with a possible 3000 litres per hour.
Please pray with us for this to become a reality as lately the region has had no rain for well over a year and a half. The water tanks are dry as are the rivers and so a more permanent solution is required to sustain crops and families in the area.
Approximate costs:
Drill borehole: £ 4,500 (250 mts deep)
Making sunk well hole safe: £ 3,400
Truck hire, rig, council, etc £ 4,100
Completion total: £12,000
75% must be raised before drilling commences! (£9,000)
